Move data between Excel and any app with AI

Copying rows from a spreadsheet into a website, a CRM or an old program is the classic boring task. How an AI agent does it row by row, and checks its work.

The spreadsheet has the data. The other system needs it. Between them sits a person copying, switching windows and pasting, for an hour. Spreadsheets are where a lot of work starts, and an AI agent can carry it the rest of the way.

Common jobs

  • Into an old program: "Type the 30 orders from orders.xlsx into the stock program."
  • Into a website: "Add each product in this sheet to the store, with the price and description."
  • Into a CRM: "Create a contact for every row in leads.xlsx."
  • Out of somewhere, into Excel: "Copy the totals from each of these 12 PDF invoices into a new sheet."
  • Across sheets: "Match the payments in bank.xlsx to the invoices in October.xlsx and mark the missing ones."

How ands does it

  1. It opens the file and reads the rows you pointed to.
  2. It shows a plan: which app, how many rows, which columns go to which fields.
  3. You say go, and it enters the data, one row at a time, in the real app.
  4. When it’s done, it reports what it entered, and lists any row it skipped and why.

Because ands reads fields by their names (the same way screen readers do), it knows "Price" is the price field even if the layout is different from the last time.

Safety for data entry

Typing into a form is a change you approved in the plan. Saving a record that sends an email, publishes a product or submits an order is sensitive, and ands asks before it. For a big batch, ask it to stop after the first row so you can check. More on how the gate works: How approvals work.

When to use a real integration instead

If the same transfer runs thousands of times a day, ask a developer for an integration. For the weekly batch of tens or hundreds of rows, an agent is quicker to start and needs no one. See also Automating old software with no API.
